Pool Plaster 101

Your guide to choosing the perfect plaster for your outdoor pool.

What to know:

The smoother the finish, the higher the chance for color inconsistencies. These are minor but may be noticeable if you have a keen eye. In Charlotte, NC, we use Quality Pool Groups for the best plaster as they offer a 15 year warranty on all plaster installation. Due to the chemical makeup of plaster, you will need to plan to refinish your pool around 15 years after install. Shotcrete carries a Lifetime Structural Limited Warranty which is listed out within your Project Contract.

Granite (Smoothest)

 Quartz (Most durable)

Engineered mix designs of white Portland cement, graded, natural and ceramic coated, multi-colored quartz sands, proprietaries and fresco inorganic chlorine resistant colorants. Quartz is variegated and free flowing as it reveals multiples colors of contrasting sands. Feels as if walking barefoot on the beach, never scratchy & never too slick.

Hybrid (Custom to QPG)

Engineered mix designs of white Portland cement, graded, natural and ceramic coated, multi-colored quartz sands, proprietaries and inorganic chlorine resistant colorants with the addition of mini pebble (8/16”). Our goal for this product was to keep the smoothness of a Quartz blend but also have in mind the organic look of Pebble blend. With the hybrid you get the best of both worlds.
